About us
Calvary's Story
Established in 1874 as First Baptist Church of Ambridge, the church was moved to 300 11th St. in 1916, where we’ve been ever since. Pastor Matthew Klenk was installed as the Senior Pastor in 2015 and the church made a transition from Baptist to Nondenominational, with our name changing to Calvary Fellowship Community Church in 2023.
The vision of Calvary Fellowship is to bring the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to members inside the church walls as well as the surrounding community. At Calvary, we believe in the transformative power of Jesus Christ, prioritize discipleship, and seek to increase our community’s understanding and application of God’s Word. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, grow, and serve. Built on a foundation of love, compassion, and unity, we strive to provide a place where you can find support, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Whether you are seeking spiritual guidance, searching for deeper meaning in life, or simply looking for a community to connect with, Calvary Fellowship is here for you.
Calvary's Leaders
Pastor Matthew Klenk
With a degree in Biblical Studies and Theology from St. James Theological Seminary, Pastor Matthew Klenk has been preaching since 2001. In his early 20s, he felt the call to pastoral ministry which led him to pursue Seminary. Married at 22 to his late wife Jenn, they entered ministry immediately, coming to Calvary in 2015 after pastoring throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. In addition to pastoring, Pastor Matt loves basketball and coaches high school teams. When he’s not coaching and pastoring, he’s likely spending time with his daughter Bella or enjoying the quiet of his country home.
In addition to pastoring Calvary, Pastor Matt is a Church Army USA officer serving as the Regional Director for Ambridge and its surrounding communities on the eastern side of the Ohio River. In his role with CAUSA, Pastor Matt works closely with Evangelist Andrenna Williams, CAUSA’s Regional Director on the western side of the Ohio River. Together, they are working to bridge the communities and ministries on each side of the river for a unified approach to serving the needs of these areas.
Elder Larry Guidry
Our presiding Elder is Larry Guidry. Elder Larry spent 21 years serving in the US Military before working at the Beaver County Assistance Office. Married to his wife Janet for 57 years, Larry became an Elder at Calvary in 2016. He has faithfully served in leadership, ensuring Calvary’s sound theological approach to ministry and emphasizing the importance of the Church serving and loving the community of Ambridge.
Isaac Ciarrochi
Isaac Ciarrochi is our Young Adult Ministry leader here at Calvary Fellowship. Isaac’s walk with the Lord started as God brought him out of addiction, giving him a passion for the truth of the Gospel and creating safe spaces for those with stories similar to his own; which ultimately led him into ministry leadership. Isaac’s experiences have given him immense humility, wisdom, and a zeal for God’s Word making him an excellent leader to Calvary’s young adults. During his time in ministry leadership thus far, Isaac has audited classes and participated in intensives at Trinity School for Ministry. He is continuously seeking the Lord as he develops his understanding of God’s Word, leadership, and ministry lifestyle under Pastor Matt’s counsel. Outside of serving at Calvary and in partnership with Uncommon Grounds Cafe, Isaac is the owner of The Neighborhood Carpenter LLC and occasionally works with Urban Impact’s Theater Construction Program.
